Happy Dog- The Michael Symon

23 Mar

Hi there, again.

Today I am writing about Happy Dog.

I have already mentioned that everyone in Cleveland should go to Happy Dog for the best wieners in town. Not to mention the amazing beer selection, the great live music, and of course the TATER TOTS!

Though I already wrote about Happy Dog:

Happy Dog

I have to write again to talk about the glorious dog that I just had!

I went in for a quick bite, but didn’t really know what I wanted once I looked at the menu. Obviously I wanted a hot dog, but what toppings??! I quickly decided that I wanted house-made peanut butter, but couldn’t make up my mind about what else. I mean potato chips were no longer on the menu, so I couldn’t figure out what would go with peanut butter.

I decided to ask the bartender/server what she thought would go with peanut butter, and she pointed to “The Michael Symon”. It is the favorite hot dog of famous Cleveland chef and its namesake, Michael Symon. It had peanut butter with Sriracha hot sauce, and pickle relish. I am assuming most of you are thinking “OMG GROSS!!!” and at first thought, I was too. But I decided to give it a try, and let me tell you- MIND EXPLOSION! It was the most amazing hot dog I hade ever eaten. The combination of the creamy peanut butter, sweet relish, and very spicy hot sauce all on top of a hot dog were to die for!

I cannot imagine a more perfect flavor-combo. And, that is why I’m telling all of you, if you know what’s good for you, you will go order this immediately!

Good day all!

The Lola Burger

27 Jan

This is my first time writing a blog, so please be patient with me as I figure it out. I have wanted to write about food for a while, so here it goes!

On Wednesday I had some free time in the afternoon and was going to be in and around Strongsville that day. What better way to spend the lunch hour then at The B-Spot?! If you are unfamiliar with the B-Spot, it is an amazing burger joint created by world famous chef, Michael Symon. There are many great burgers on the menu, as well as, a thoughtful beer list, indulgent milkshakes, a pickle bar, and the most amazing collection of bourbons.

As you can probably tell, I love the B-Spot. However, I had not been there in months. My visit on Wednesday was so amazing it made me fall back into love with the hamburger. Recently all I have had, burger-wise, were some crappy frozen super market patties and horrible fast food.

I ordered the Lola Burger and a side of Lola fries as I sat at the bar. The Lola Burger, which was served medium, was covered in a sunny-side up egg, thick cut bacon, pickled red onions, mayo, and cheese. The burger was perfect, and had amazing flavor and juiciness. The bacon was pretty well done and added a firm texture with great saltiness. The egg broke once I picked up the burger, which left great slop to dip the fries in. Oh, and about the fries? The best ever. Period! They are cooked in pig fat, which makes them amazing! I added a load of garlic pickles to my plate to eat with the fries. Have you ever had fries and pickles in the same bite? If you haven’t, I challenge you to try it. It will rock your world!

I finished my lunch faster than any reasonable person should. It was so good; I didn’t even stop to breathe. I thank you Chef Symon, for your amazing burger concoctions and making this week so much better!
